I have times of the year when I invest in a few key high end brands to add to my closet and beauty regime. Although i love high street brands as they are bang on trend I do like having a few key designer pieces.
So far I have bagged a few bits from beauty to fashion.
Wedge sneakers have been around for quite a while and I have lived them from the start. I'm quite short and love that I can have the height and comfort when I wear these. My first pair were the classics 'Ash Coolbis' in black as I wasn't sure if I'd invest in the Isabel Marent...how much wear I'd get from them. The Ash are so comfy but the only negative I have is that from the back the wedge is a little too visible. I like when the sneaker still looks like a real sneaker and these don't really have the same look. I then went to the high street and bought some great ones from River Island a surprisingly from Next.
I decided to invest in another pair this time from Micheal Kors (£220.00). These black leather sneakers really look like sneakers and the hidden 3inch wedge really is totally hidden. The only one thing is for some reason I think they make my feet look quite big...not sure why as there is a 3inch height :s
At the start of the year I bought my Marc by Marc Jacobs baby Aiden(£400.00) which is a key black leather bag which I know I will get lots if use out of. It's the perfect size for all my stuff and I like that I can use the short handles or the shoulder strap.
Alpha liquid gold is something I see all beauty gurus rave about. Now I know why! This stuff is great for your skin and makes my skin feel super smooth and glowy. At £45 it's a special treat for your skin and totally worth it.
Argentum is a moisturiser which I'd never heard of until a few months back when I received samples in my Glossybox. Since using my samples I saw immediate results which I usually never find any product does. Upon application my skin was instantly more radiant and looked so healthy. I'm usually very fussy about my skin care but I did splurge out £147 for this face cream and am excited when using it.
I love wearing glasses and have got myself a new pair of Ray-bans. I usually got for a black plastic frame and a little geek style so I got myself a new even geekier frame :) The Ray-ban 5248 (£100) are a large frame and are very noticeable. They are a pair of statement glasses and not for those who want a subtle look. I love these glasses and feel they suit my face shape and my style. Also I love that I don't need to wear too much eye makeup when I where them as the glasses detract the attention!
That's all my high end shopping for the start of the year....now to work off my credit card bill 😁 !!

Nail colours I'm loving
I love painting my nails! I have my little routine once a week when I sit down and give my hands a tlc treatment but filing my nails and tidying my cuticles. As a makeup artist I always believe appearance matters when working, this applies to hands too.
Recently I have become quite experimental with colours and styles. Last season I only wore the usual berry shades and darker autumnal colours but this year I'm trying all sorts.
I love nudes as they are classics that suit any occasion. My fave nudes are Nails inc and Sally Hanson. My favourite darker shade is by Seche and is the colour I received in my glossybox a couple months back. Right now I'm wearing my tangerine colour by Rommel which I love...feels like a little bit of summer on my hands in this gloomy weather.

New year purchases!
Happy new year guys!!
Once Christmas was over my next highlight was the sales! I am the biggest online shopper and hate walking around in shops especially sale time. To my surprise i actually did it this year. The shops were a complete mess and I was getting pushed around but other than that it was quite aright.
I got a few bits online and in the shops which I'm happy about.
I bought a gorgeous pair of spiked boots (originally £70) which I got for £15! I love them.
Also I got a pair of studded court shoes which were another bargain. They would look great with a pair of skinny jeans.
My final shoes were a pair of basic suede booties that can be worn for comfortable walking. I got these at a snippet at just £15 (originally £49.99) which is a great price for real leather shoes.
Clothes wise I bought quite a few bits. Firstly I got a very cute little cropped bomber jacket from Lipsy. This was originally £59.99 and I got it for £27.00. Worn with jeans or a little dress I think this is such a cute item.
My next item was also from Lipsy and was a knitted mini-dress. The blue/black combo gives it a sporty feel but the fit is a little more trendy so it looks great on.
My next item is from Miss Sixty and is a pair of fab skinny jeans. I love the way Miss Sixty jeans fit...they are so comfortable and fit like a glove. The pair I got are blue with a distressed gold trim on the top. Originally £150 but I got for £85.
I went into Miss selfridge and got a gorgeous leather jacket. I was eying this jacket up a while ago when it first came in season but wasn't to sure on paying£150 in another leather jacket as I have soooo many already. When I saw this marked as £70 I couldn't refuse. It fits perfectly and looks great on. I got a size 8 and its perfect (true to size)
Next I went to boots and I love going after xmas when all the gift sets are half price. I went straight to the Soap and glory section as I absolutely live the bodycare products. I usually religiously purchase the body butter and hand food hand cream. I wanted to try the sugar crush scrub as I have seen so many gurus raving about how great it is. I found a great set with everything!
The last item was a present for myself!...I think I deserve it :)
I got myself a new handbag. I needed a new black leather back which was a good size to carry for work. I usually put a lot in my bag so this was a great size for me.
It is the Marc Jacobs baby Aidan bag in black leather. I got it from Harrods for £395 and I love it!

Glossybox January 2013 uk
Got my box this morning and was pretty disappointed.
All the products didn't really appeal to me apart from one item (eye cream)
I find that the glossybox really is a hit or miss box! Sometimes I love it but then I get disappointed when none of the product are any use to me.
I have seen some subscribers received hair products which I would prefer but get ho...hopefully next month will better!

Mad Hatters Tea Party - London
Hi guys,
Sorry its been so long but I'm back. So today my bestie decided to treat me to a wonderful afternoon tea at the Sanderson in London. The theme was the mad hatters party which was so much fun. The tea took place in the outside terrace which surprisingly was pleasant even though London is absolutely freezing right now. The tent was set with heaters so got quite toasty plus the cups of hot tea helped! So when we arrived we were given options of what tea we would like. There was green tea with lemongrass, spiced savoury tea, traditional black and something else which smelt horrid that I don't even know.
I chose the traditional black as I knew it would be the safe choice. When the cake tower was brought out I had an instant smile on my face. I think everyone smiles when they see pretty cakes and these were the cutest little cakes and treats.
So being in theme with Alice in wonderland, the top tier had little mushroom marshmallows and the sweetest little carrot meringues. The meringue was so light it literally melted in my ,mouth before I could even taste the flavour, none the less it was a little drop of heaven. The next tier was the more appealing to me tier! The cutest little chocolate cup filled with green tea souffle topped with popping candy, a vanilla cheesecake filled with mango puree and a classic Victoria sponge with jam filling. All amazing and I'm sure ridiculously calorific! The final tier was savouries. So lots of little rolled up green bread sandwiches...yes I said green bread! Gorgeous mini aubergine quiches and finally the classic English sweet and savoury(spinach) scones.
The whole afternoon was a fun and quirky day and I would highly recommend this tea if you want a little twist on the traditional English.
